Intuit has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, with continued expansions into international markets, including South Africa and Singapore. With change comes excitement. Intuit recently announced that Ariege Misherghi has taken over Rich Preece’s role as Intuit Accountant Segment business leader, responsible for driving the overall accountant business strategy, product development and delivery of its professional accounting products and services to its accountant and bookkeeper partners globally. I was able to interview her and ask more about her new role.
As part of the changes in leadership, Rich is transitioning into a new role as U.S. Country Manager for Intuit’s Small Business Self-Employed Group. In Rich’s new role, he will be responsible for developing and delivering the overall market strategy for all QuickBooks products and services, including marketing strategies for payroll and payments.
Ariege has spent nine years at Intuit building many groundbreaking products, driving changes in the Find-a-ProAdvisor site, launching Practice Management features within QuickBooks Online Accountant, and more. All of these changes were a result of her role as the product development lead for accounting professionals at Intuit. She is going to continue to build in more benefits for ProAdvisors, add more third-party training, and update the Practice Management tools — to name just a few of her priorities. She even shared that there will be some exciting announcements that she will unveil to us at QuickBooks Connect in November, so stay tuned.
Ariege got her start working with accountants and small businesses when she worked at PayCycle in their customer service department. So she understands the importance of cash flow and the challenges small businesses face to be successful. Ariege is also a customer-focused leader. She’s working hard to reach accountants to help them improve their skill sets and grow their firms by building their client base. When speaking to her, you can tell she loves what she does because she’s so excited about the innovations she helped launch and the fact that the Find-a-ProAdvisor site continues to connect small businesses with accounting pros every day. Her vision and passion for driving innovation are contagious.
I shared my story about how my business truly got off the ground when I created my Find-a-ProAdvisor listing after I became certified and leads came flooding in. It was a perfect fit for me because although I am a licensed CPA, the work I enjoy most is around QuickBooks. In the beginning, I took on every job and eventually was able to determine the types of jobs that I loved to do. When I started to receive leads for projects that were beyond my expertise, I started to build my referral network with other like-minded ProAdvisors that could support different industries. I’ve met many of these partners at conferences and in Facebook groups.
It’s an exciting time to be a ProAdvisor, and I look forward to seeing what Ariege and her team are going to announce at QuickBooks Connect, what benefits they add to the ProAdvisor Program, the enhancements to the Practice Management tools in QuickBooks Online Accountant, and what else is in store as Intuit continues to expand globally.
Be sure to sign up for QuickBooks Connect, November 5-7, 2018 in San Jose, California so that you can hear Ariege’s big announcements live. You can look for me and meet other QuickBooks ProAdvisors to build your referral network so you can do what you love!
